Practical Workshops 2009/10

Background

Four benchmarking groups have been set up in the context of the project  Benchmarking in European Higher Education (2008-2010). One kick-off workshop and four workshops are organised for each group in regular intervalls of 3 months in one single venue under the responsibility of one project partner. The workshops will take one day with common and parallel sessions for the 4 groups.

They are of a highly interactive nature for the participating universities not only to identify examples of good practice, but also to comment upon and test the feasability of similar procedures and techniques in the home institution with their specific national, legal and cultural contexts.

The Kick-off workshop (Ghent, BE) provided universities with an outline of the benchmarking methodology and the work programme. It reviewed indicators and questionnaires as the basis for the benchmarking excercise.

The analysis and priority setting workshop I (Berlin, DE) looked at input to the questionnaires and data analysis and set priorities.

The second analysis and priority setting workshop (Bath, UK) focused on checking priority areas, setting more concrete targets and identifying good practices.

During implementation workshop I (Elche, ES) universities will present action plans for implementation.

The implementation workshop 2 (Brussels, BE) will review feedback on progress with the action plan.
